A six-strong team of former politicians, including former MPs and MEPs, have joined forces to launch a new public affairs consultancy specialising in government relations and political intelligence. Political Insight prides itself on ‘knowing how government works,’ and is highlighting its ‘Brexpertise,’ alongside services including corporate communications, policy briefings and analysis, and media and political communications coaching.
Two of Political Insight’s Directors are former Conservative MPs: Stewart Jackson, MP for Peterborough and a DEXEU Special Advisor, and Graham Evans, MP for Weaver Vale and Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Defence is also a Director. Suzanne Evans, the well-known Brexit campaigner and former PR consultant, also joins as a Director of the new company. Meanwhile, Rob Wilson, the former MP for Reading East and a Minister in both the Cameron and May governments, and the former Conservative MEP David Campbell Bannerman will act as Senior Advisors. Completing the high-profile team in the role of Advisory Counsel, is former MEP Patrick O’Flynn, Spectator and Daily Telegraph columnist, who is also a former Political Editor of the Daily Express.
Despite their prestigious political careers, Stewart Jackson is keen to emphasise that Political Insight is not merely a ‘product of the Westminster bubble.’
He says: ‘We have all run businesses independently of our careers in frontline politics, and have experience working for clients at a high level in either public relations or political consultancy. This gives us a distinctive combination of political and business savvy which we will leverage to deliver clear results for our clients.’
Significantly, all members of the Political Insight team were on the winning side of the Brexit debate: they all voted to leave the EU. Graham Evans says:
